{OOC} Not quite done yet guys. Just need to tweak it before i post the Char sheet{OOC]

April 26th, 1986. Chernobyl NPP, Ukraine.

We all heard the stories. How one Tiny Mistake during a routine excersize Caused a Nuclear explosion Worse than any Warhead, missile or bomb. A radiation blowout that shocked an entire generation to silence and placed a rather appropriate period at the end of the Cold War. The Radiation Blowout would affect nearly the entire world. Blanketing Europe and Russia and reaching as far as the North American Eastern coastline.

Over 160,000 people are then almost immediatly Evacuated before the government sent in Tanker ships to ferry out anything of value that wasen't bolted down, risking further contamination as well as health hazards associated with radiation poisoning.
Eventualy the Ukrainian and Belerusian Governments would draw a boundry around the Chernobyl NPP and outlying cities such as Pripyat and Limansk. Dubbed The 'Zone of Alienation', The Exclusion Zone' or more simply 'The zone', its main purpose was to keep Everyone out except for Scientists and Ecologist brought in to monitor and study the effects Long term exposure to Radiation had in the area as well as develop advance Countermeasures Against radiation Poisoning among others.

Despite being policed by both Ukrainian and Belerusian Authorities, Thousands of residents refused to be evacuated from the zone or illegally returned there later. Over the decades this primarily elderly population has dwindled, falling below 400 in 2009. Approximately half of these resettlers live in the town of Chernobyl; others are spread in villages across the zone. After recurrent attempts at expulsion, the authorities became reconciled to their presence and even allowed limited supporting services for them. The population also includes some vagabonds, looters and other marginalized persons from the outside world. These people (known as "samosely", translated as "self-settlers" or squatters) declare their strong commitment to the surrounding nature and rural lifestyle. Samosely usually deny or are resigned to any significant damage to their health resulting from the high levels of radiation in the environment.

April 13th, 2006. Chernobyl NPP, Ukraine.

Almost 20 years after the first Incident, a second Blowout of unimaginable proportions erupted in the Chernobyl NPP, cutting a grotesque swath through the Science teams and the remaining Bands of Looters, Squatters and vagabonds. Those who were left would then rebuild under a new name. "Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer, Robber".

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

It would seem this second blowout would also have unforseen consiquences for the zone. The year is 2011 and 5 years of Mutation has populated the zone with an entirely new ecosystem full of horrific predators. Not only that, but it would seem physics itself would be torn apart and changed. Pockets of Space where the Basic Laws of Physics are turned on it's head are refered to as 'Anomolies'. and ranged in effects from Changes in gravity and Slashing 'Mini tornados' to Anomolies that teleport (Sometimes even to small pocket dimensions, never to be heard from again.) And Anomolies that crackle with Electrical currents.

But now Stalkers in the zone have a new treasure to obtain. Like a pearl within a clam shell, Artifacts can be found within anomaly fields. Drenched in both radiation and the same energy that produces the Anomalies themselves, these artifacts have the power to affect change in a localized area. Prized by Stalkers, they search for these artifacts and secret them out of the zone, it's borders now Policed by the Ukrainian Military.

This Narrative shall start here, in the Rookie Village on the very outskirts of the Zone. The Absolute safest starting point before one begins thier journey northwards towards Pripyat before moving on into the Heart of the Zone.

The Chernobyl NPP

The Rookie village is small and contains one Road with Houses on either side in various states of disrepair. The Road leads northwards into the Zone and will lead you past the Motor pool and the Cordon manned by the Ukrainian Military forces, who's sole job it is to keep the Mutants in, and STALKERS out. The Village is populated by Rookie Stalkers (Hence the name), petty vandals and even Civilians who refused to leave thier halfway demolished abodes as well as a Greasy fat Trader named Sidorovich who took over a military bunker found nearby.
The other STALKERS are generaly Friendly, willing to share a place by the fire and swap stories and Vodka though many tend to stick to thier own cliques or keep to themselves. Every so often a Veteran Stalker can be seen roving through the village, though such sightings are rare. Many Well named Experianced Stalkers have an almost mythical fame surrounding them.

The only Mutants one has to worry about are the occasional Pack of Dogs that hunts around the rolling hills that surround the Village.

Jarmo fiddled with the small handful of coin in which he had just received from a trade with Sidorovich. He spotted his brother standing at the edge of the village and began his smal trek towards him. Passing a few other Rookies along the way, waving to those who took friendly notice of him as well as one particularly talented guitar player. "Tämä rasva paskiainen sidorovich repi minut taas pois vannon. (That fat bastard sidorovich ripped me off again i swear.)" he said as he reached Toumi's side. "Mitä sinun täytyy tehdä jotain järkevää maksaa täällä? (What do you have to do to get some decent pay around here?)". Rarely did he speak in his native tongue with the only exceptions to the times he were upset, frustrated, scared or even when he was enjoying himself with the company of a woman. "How are things with you brother?"

(Toumi only knows two languaged, Russian and Finnish. Gonna use <> To denote the Finnish language. Russian will be the Default Language for this Narrative.)

Toumi Laughed as his younger brother reached his side, thier feet making crunching sounds as they walked the gravel road that split the Rookie Village in half. It was Wintertime in the Zone and the hoarfrost made the ground hard and unyeilding. Toumi Barely felt the chill wind though. Living in Finland always left someone a better perspective of icey cold. There weren't many people outside. The Squatters and Civvies were holed up in thier homes, smoke billowing out of the decaying chimneys like a half lit cigarette.

"<Better than you it seems little Jarmo. I've been talking to some of the STALKERS by the fire. Looks like I managed to convince a few guys to cut us in on an operation that they're planning.>"
Toumi didn't bother lowering his voice as they walked. That was the greatest advantage of knowing a language others around you did not.
"<We have Night watch with them Tonight. They say they'll tell us the plan then.>"

Jarmo blew a cloud of hot air before replying to his brother. <Sounds good. just hope we get paid for it what ever it is> Pocketing the coin he move his hand down to his shotgun. He cracked it open to make sure it was loaded. Popping it back into place he put it away and placed his hands in his pocket. Jarmo then began whistling an old Finnish classic that uncle Simo used to sing.

Toumi Snorted before reaching up to run a hand over his slick blond hair.
"<Well I don't exactly plan to do this Pro Bono you know.>"

By this point they were both Halfway down the village. Putting his back against a wooden fence, he Looked over Jarmo's shotgun before taking a swig of water from the green canteen he kept clipped to his coat.
"<Can I be confident that you can fire that thing without catapulting yourself onto your ass? How much ammo did you manage to get for that boomstick?>"
He teased with a wry grin.

Jarmo looked up into his brothers face and punched him hard in the shoulder. Painu helvettiin <Fuck off> he laughed <I'll be fine you dick. I managed to get a hold of 30 shells. Man i really hope we can take out some of them Bandit ass holes> Mimicking his brother, he too ran a hand through his hair. Jarmo reached behind him into his bag and pulled out a bottle of cossacks vodka and took a swig then offered the bottle to Toumi. <This stuff tastes like shit compared to the stuff we used to get backk home, but it will have to do, eh?>

Toumi simply smirked as he reached out and ruffled his younger brothers dirty blond hair.
"<Lets not forget why we are here little brother. Not to go off and play Rambo. Lets focus on finding our lost past before we go punishing evil>"
The rest of Toumi's words were drowned out as three Russian Hind Gunships passed overhead one after the other. Watching the passing choppers, Toumi's lips went tight as he furrowed his brow.

Without looking, Toumi reached out to take a swig of vodka as he watched the last Hind pass out of view.
He wasen't a stranger to the high military presence in the zone. In fact it only took a few days for the sight Of military hardware in the sky to become routine. That being said, there was something different about this group.

Toumi Pointed Skywards
"<That must be the third time those Choppers have gone over this place in the last few hours or so. I wonder why.>"

As the last chopper past Jarmo relaxed a little. <Maybe they found something important. Or maybe something went wrong.> He hated to think that the military were having trouble with something. If that were the case then maybe they were all doomed. One would think that with all their modern equipment that things would be a cake walk but Jarmo had heard tales of The Zone's unpredictable and deadly nature. <Any thoughts?>

"<Yeah, and none of them are good.>"
Taking another swig from the bottle, Toumi handed it back to his younger brother as another STALKER approached them, waving a hand in the air trying to get thier attention.

Toumi tapped Jarmo on the chest and pointed the man out who began to call out the second he was in range.
"Hey you two! Just heard an SOS on the radio. Noone else wants it, how about you?"

Toumi simply shrugged and looked to Jarmo.
"<Your Call.>"
There was still loads of time before the sun would set. He didn't exactly have anything planned until then. Checking out an SOS might help cut the hours down. Even score whatever they were carrying. Out here in the zone, The phrase everyone lived by was 'Waste not want not' and the dead were fair game.

Unless.....

"Wait, What ended up getting them anyway?"

The short stocky man wrapped in a leather coat simply shrugged as he switched his AK-47 from one shoulder to the other.
"Thats your job to find out."

<oh thats reassuring. I'm game unless you have bad feelings about this. He brought the vodka up to his lips and took another swig. He felt the warm liquid go down smoothly. Jarmo checked his bag to make sure everything was in order. He then looked up into the sky and at his watch. Learning from the best he readjusted the time according to the daylight hours. "Any information at all? like where the SOS is coming from?"

The Older Stalker let out a gruff laugh before extending his hand. Without hesitating, Toumi pulled his PDA out and handed it to him. The man took a second to mark the location down on the PDA's GPS map before handing it back.

"What?! Thats Bullshit!"
Toumi's eyes went wide the second he looked at the screen.
With a flick of his wrist he tossed the PDA at Jarmo before crossing his arms.
"That stone bridge is just up the road over the hill. We would have heard something."

The grizzled Stalker nodded grimly before pulling a cigarette out of a pocket.
"I know. Thats acualy one of the reasons not alot of people want this one. Whatever you find is yours. We don't care what you do with the bodies."

The man didn't stay long after saying his piece. Leaving Toumi scratching his chin with the crook of his finger weighing the pros and cons. Unfortunatly it didn't take long before his curiosity got the best of him after another swig of water.

"<I say we go. You got everything you need?>"
He figured Jarmo did, but it was always polite to aks first. Pushing himself off the wall, he shook himself up to make sure nothing was loose before making his way out to the middle of the road.

Jarmo looked at the location on the PDA. Atleast they wouldnt be going far. He handed the PDA back to Toumi and began an inspection of his gear. <I'm good to go whenever you are.> Jamro wasnt sure what to make of this situation. He hated the fact that there was so little info but what shook him the most was that there was no gun shot or even a scream to indicate something going wrong. <Anomaly?>

"<Can't be. Last I checked, anomalies dont move around. At least no anomaly that I know of.>"
What disturbed Toumi the most was how close to the village the S.O.S. was. If something really nasty hit those stalkers, then how long until whatever it was reaches them. Then again, the majority of Stalkers here were fresh off the boat and this whole thing could have easily been a rookie error turned fatal.

Still......

"<Common, lets get going. sooner we get this over and done with, sooner we meet up with Fox and Semyon come night shift.>"

Jarmo thought long and hard about what could possibly have happened, he eventually came up blank. Nothing that he had seen or heard could explain the suddenness of what had happened. He followed his brother out of the camp and switched from shotgun to pistol. <Could this be a prank maybe?> After speaking he suddenly went quiet as barking could be heard somewhere nearby. Coming to the conclusion that it wasnt a threat he resumed his easy but alert stance and waited for a response fro Toumi.

Toumi grew silent as he churned his scattered thoughts around in his head. Eventualy the two brothers left the village and walked the gravel road and over the winding hill. To the right, they were flanked by a small grove of hard barked trees and to the left, a large clearing practicaly landmined with Anomolies. Toumi looked up at the cloudy sky as crows passed lazily overhead.

He honestly hoped it wouldn't rain. He was starting to get sick and tired of always sitting in the mud. The sun DID peek through the clouds here and there, so the young man held on to a glimmer of hope for a nice dry day.

Eventualy after cresting another hill, the sight of the Stone bridge came into view. Toumi cocked his head to the side as he looked off into the distance where the Military Cordon had set up shop underneath a broken Train arch. Wiping his nose off the back of his hand, Unclipping his pistol holster in the other, Toumi turned to his brother with a wry grin.

"<You first Shotgun boy>"

Jarmo grinned at Toumi's comment. <With pleasure after all i'm the one with the "big gun'> His grin grew wider.
He moved in hunched position towards their target shotgun held at the ready. Jarmo glanced to and fro all the while keeping aware of any slight distortion in the air hinting at an anomaly. <I trust you have a plan if we get into trouble?> he whispered as he continued to put one foot infront of the other.

A plan? Of course Toumi had a plan. The very thought made him chuckle.
"Simple. We shoot first, shoot some more and when we're done, try to ask a question or two."
The Stone Bridge was a small overpass for a road that ran right through the hill the two brothers were standing upon. The Road below was barely recognizable without the few scattered wrecked jeeps and trucks. With it's pot holes and broken sections it looked as if Mother Nature was about to claim another victory against Humankinds concrete eddifices as the road wound out of the forest, under the bridge and through the Valley.

Noticing movement amongst three Burnt out Jeeps down the road, Toumi Pulled a pair of Binoculars from out of his inner jacket, the straps still around his neck.
"<Jarmo, Anything in the Tunnel?>"
All he could hear was the wind and the crows. The quiet made the hairs on the back of his neck stand at attention as he brought the binocs up to his eyes and began to scan the valley from atop of the stone bridges edge.

Jarmo raised his shotgun and gazed down the barrel as he walked down to the tunnel. He was ready for anything but what he saw next chilled him to the bone. Behind an old jeep he could see nothing but kicked up dirt and a fire pit. He walked up to the pit and put his hand inside. "Still warm" he whispered to himself. <Nothing is here but a warm firepit!> he yelled back to his brother. <I dont like it>

Jarmo spun round shotgun held at the waste. He took a step back and pulled into a crouch. <Come on down Toumi we got company>. Jarmo's finger hovered above the trigger ready for this guy to make the wrong move. He cursed himself for over looking everything else. "What you doing here?"

{OOC} Just to Remind you Asd, Toumi and Jarmo only Speak Russian and Finnish{OOC}

Toumi jumped alittle as a flash of movement skirted across his field of view. It was as Toumi was zooming in, eyes squinting that he spotted something that made his stomach ice up. He had just enough time to catch a blur duck behind one of the jeeps before he heard a sound echo below him. A Strangers voice by the sounds of it and in a foreign language no less. Stashing his Binocs in his inner jacket and pulling his Pistol out, Toumi narrowed his eyes and walked over to the edge of the stone bridge, looking down and training his pistol on the tunnels entrance.

"<Have him Walk out of the Tunnel Jarmo! I'll cover him from up here! Him First, then you follow behind. Don't take your gun off him for a second.>"

Down the road to the Valley, sitting with back against the Jeep, was the Body of a Stalker.
